In this study, we evaluated whether the OGF-OGFr axis is dysregulated in the limbus of T1D male and female rats, and whether this abnormality is associated with altered limbal morphology (i.e., packing density, cell diameter), limbal stemness (i.e., CK15 expression), and limbal cell proliferation (i.e., Ki-67). Here, MKI67 is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
