CSCs are essential for tumor initiation and progression, thereby leading to high mortality and recurrence rates, as well as low therapeutic sensitivity and overall survival.[6] Using clinical samples obtained from patients with HCC, we confirmed the downregulation of YY2 in tumor tissues compared to corresponding adjacent tissues, along with a negative correlation between YY2 and CD44 (Figure 1H,I). This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
