SPTLC1 and coronary artery disorder: The evaluation of differences in the expression of ceramide synthesis enzymes in the AT of patients with CAD or VHD showed that patients with CAD, unlike patients with VHD, were characterized by higher SPTLC1 expression in SAT and EAT samples (p = 0.00003, p = 0.0022, respectively) and higher SPTLC2 in EAT samples (p = 0.039) (Figure 1).
