Patients with SLE and positive MPO-DNA complex levels were significantly more likely to have high SLE activity (χ2 = 5.25, p = 0.037), lupus glomerulonephritis (χ2 = 6.82, p = 0.009), positive antibodies to dsDNA (χ2 = 4.82, p = 0.036), and hypocomplementemia (χ2 = 6.72, p = 0.01). The gene discussed is MPO; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
