A recent meta-analysis of seven randomized clinical trials, including patients with HF and reduced or preserved LVEF, revealed an association between the use of sodium-glucose transport protein 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and reduced risk of SCD (risk ratios: 0.68; 95% [CI]: 0.48–0.95; p = 0.03; I2 = 0%) [17]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and Schnyder corneal dystrophy.
