Interestingly, the increased β-oxidation rate, electron flux and ATP production observed in human sarcomatoid mesothelioma cell lines were all consistent with the increased expression of ATP synthase subunits, cytochrome c oxidase subunits, abundance changes in these proteins in rat tumors, and with our observations concerning the long-chain acyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase. This evidence concerns the gene ACADL and mesothelioma.
