To date, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved two tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs): Midostaurin as first-line treatment in combination with cytarabine and daunorubicin in FLT3-mutated AML [43,44,45], and gilteritinib as single-agent therapy in relapsed or refractory AML with FLT3 gene mutations [46,47]. The gene discussed is FLT3; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
