TERT and melanoma: In our cohort of patients treated with a combination of BRAF and MEK inhibitors, we showed that the median PFS under BRAF and MEK inhibitors treatment was higher in patients with the wild-type TERT promoter than in patients with the mutated TERT promoter (Figure 1B), suggesting that the high expression level of TERT induced by mutations in the promoter might be involved in resistance to BRAF and MEK inhibitors in patients with BRAF-mutated melanomas.
