Demographic and clinical parameters that significantly differed between these eight patients and NAFLD patients with F1 or F2 among the cohort (n = 62) included older age in progressors (p = 0.042); race, with a higher representation of Hispanics (p = 0.040); as well as higher AST and ALT levels in progressors, with a median AST value of 63 compared to 30 (p < 0.001) and a median ALT value of 57 compared to 44 (p = 0.021) (Supplementary Table S1). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
