Various key molecules, such as P-selectin, E-selectin, P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1), α4β1 integrin (very late antigen-4 or VLA-4), αLβ2 integrin (lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 or LFA-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and chemokine receptors such as CXCR3 and its ligands, CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11, are also believed to be involved in T cell homing to the pancreas during acute pancreatitis [29]. Here, ICAM1 is linked to acute pancreatitis.
