Elevated peripheral blood ANXA3 levels have been correlated with inflammatory diseases like sepsis where it has been associated with poor outcomes or death and stimulation of whole blood with various toll-like receptor agonists, fixed pathogens, and cytokines showed that ANXA3 was upregulated most strongly by IFN-γ but also induced by IFN-β and poly-IC33. This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and Sepsis.
