CCR2 and myocardial infarction: Myocardial inflammation following acute myocardial infarction has been studied with 18F-FDG103 and tracers targeting chemokine receptors CXCR4104,105 and CCR2,106 somatostatin receptors,107 the mitochondrial 18kD translocator protein TSPO,108 and other pro-inflammatory targets.2 These studies have demonstrated increased tracer uptake in the infarcted region early after myocardial infarction, indicating the immune response to myocardial injury.
