IL6 and melanoma: None of the three tested plant extracts – P. major, R. rosea and S. marianum – had significant effect on LPS-induced IL-6 production in the melanoma cell line A2058 (Fig. 4a–c), with the exception of pre-treatment with a high concentration of the R. rosea extract (125 μg/mL), which resulted in a limited but significant (P = 0.01) reduction of IL-6 production (Fig. 4b).
