Current studies have revealed that the biological effect of Ang II is mediated through two G protein-coupled receptors, angiotensin II receptor type I (AT1R, encoded by AGTR1) and angiotensin II receptor type II (AT2R, encoded by AGTR2), which are expressed in normal and various cancer cells, including cancer cells of the ovary, prostate, pancreas, breast and gut [7]. This evidence concerns the gene AGT and cancer.
