Using in vivo cell-type-specific MetRSL262G-ANL FUNCAT22, we previously showed that expression of human glycyl-tRNA synthetase (GlyRS) carrying mutations that cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) peripheral neuropathy reduce global protein synthesis in Drosophila motor and sensory neurons by ~30 to 60%, depending on the specific mutation, cell type, and ANL labeling time23,25. Here, GARS1 is linked to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
