Currently, although there are fewer studies on exercise regulation of IGF-1 expression in relation to osteoarthritis, it is not difficult to make the hypothesis that exercise can be involved in regulating bone-cartilage crosstalk in subchondral bone through IGF-1 based on its important interaction in osteogenesis and osteoarthritis, and its sensitivity to exercise performance. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and osteoarthritis.
