IL6 and temporal arteritis: The goals of our study were (i) to describe the profile of serum proteins in active, newly diagnosed naïve GCA patients compared to patients in lasting remission at week 52, (ii) to investigate and compare the effects of pulsed GC treatment and ensuing long-term TCZ monotherapy on changes in serum protein expression pattern, and (iii) to identify serum proteins which are not under the control of IL6 and, thus, may qualify as biomarkers of disease activity in patients with GCA, especially in patients treated with TCZ.
