A study has found that the overexpression of CDKN2A is an independent prognostic factor for colorectal cancer, and its overexpression can induce the occurrence of epithelial-mesenchymal transition, thereby promoting the further development of tumors (31).CDKN2A also can increase the sensitivity of cells to ROS-triggered ferroptosis and promote carcinogenesis by enhancing p53-dependent transactivation and ferroptosis (32). Here, CDKN2A is linked to colorectal cancer.
