Typically in conjunction with endocrinology, initiation of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) therapy can be considered in patients with short stature (height SDS < 1.88 or height for age <3%ile) or linear growth failure (height velocity for age SDS < -1.88 or height velocity for age <3%ile) persisting for at least 3 months despite correction of metabolic derangements and nutritional deficiency. Here, GH1 is linked to nutritional deficiency disease.
