In addition, more multiple infarctions (988 [56.0%] vs. 628 [35.6%], p < 0.001), simultaneous anterior and posterior circulatory infarctions (160 [9.1%] vs. 69 [3.9%], p < 0.001), and the LAA subtype of ischemic stroke (560 [31.7%] vs. 311 [17.7%], p < 0.001) were seen in the highest quartiles of IL‐6 (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and ischemic stroke.
