NDV infection in cancer cells can induce apoptosis by production of soluble TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand) and TNF-a (tumor necrosis factor-α) in specific manner by activation of initiator Caspase 8 (extrinsic pathway activator), while in some other cancer types oncolysis occurred without Caspase-8 activation (6). The gene discussed is TNFSF10; the disease is cancer.
