S100A8 and Cachexia: Furthermore, compared with PC patients without cachexia (n = 12), those with cachexia (n = 13) had significantly higher serum levels of S100A8 [median (IQR) 10.4 (7.8–19.8) vs. 6.5 (2.8–11.9) ng/ml, P = 0.022] and numerically higher serum levels of S100A9 [median (IQR): 11.3 (3.0-17.8) vs. 4.0 (1.6–11.5) ng/ml, P = 0.092].
