As resistance to Mtb infection or absence of infection despite known exposure is currently defined by the absence of IFN-γ measured by IGRA test in response to Mtb-derived antigens and or low-to-no reactivity to PPD in the TST, we sought to investigate the immune markers that are secreted in response to Mtb antigens in resisters as compared with individuals with LTBI and those with discordant results. Here, IFNG is linked to infection.
