In type-2 diabetic (T2DM) patients with poor glycemic control, myocardial levels of both ACE2 and glycosylated ACE2 were elevated, while the expression of Ang 1–9, Ang 1–7, and MasR was reduced, indicating impaired ACE2 activity and the anti-remodeling effects of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) suppression. This evidence concerns the gene ANGPT1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
