The authors reported that the ferroptosis inducer RSL3 caused ROS accumulation, increased labile iron and cell death in three different CRC cell lines (HCT116, LoVo, and HT29), which could be reversed by ferroptosis inhibitors (ferrostatin-1 and liproxstatin-1) and by overexpression of GPX4 (Fig. 3) [29]. The gene discussed is GPX4; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
