Interestingly, the CXCL16/CXCR6 axis participates in cancer chemoresistance, as shown by Kapur et al. [14], who demonstrated that the CXCR6–CXCL16 axis acts as a counter-defense mechanism and promotes docetaxel resistance in prostate cancer.
