An examination of soluble tau phosphorylation in AD-tau-treated neuron cultures receiving the BACE1 inhibitor LY2811376 or the γ-secretase inhibitor E2012 revealed that phosphorylation at the S202/T205 (AT8 antibody), T231 (AT180) and S396/S404 (PHF1) tau residues were not reduced by inhibitor treatment (Figs. 7, C and D and S6). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
