The pathogenesis of AD is complex with typical pathological features including extracellular senile plaques (SP) formed by β-amyloid protein (Aβ) in the brain, intracellular neurofibrillary tangle (neurofibrillary tangle, NFTs) caused by tau protein hyperphosphorylation, and progressive brain neuronal loss [4].
