To better understand the abnormal expression of the MUC5B on the pathogenesis of cancer cells, silencing the MUC5B gene in the colon cancer cell line LS174T and gastric cancer cell line KATO-III efficiently restrained cell proliferation and migration by regulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway (Lahdaoui et al., 2017). Here, MUC5B is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
