Unlike previous studies of RPS15, Ljungström and colleagues observed that somatic mutations in RPS15 were present in almost 20% of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.10 Our previous whole genome sequencing analysis of the ESCC patients failed to identify any mutations of concern in RPS15. 37 Whereas, IHC analysis of TMAs in the current study revealed a higher expression of RPS15 in 504 ESCC tumors compared to that in normal tissues. Here, RPS15 is linked to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
