Consistent with the sepsis- and therapy-specific increases observed in the whole CD4+ pool and the CD4+ Tem subset, the percentage of CD4+ naive cells was significantly reduced in scrambled control miRNA–treated mice and especially in the anti–miR-93-5p–treated mice compared with the sham-operated and control mice (anti–miR-93-5p vs. sham: P < 0.05, scrambled control vs. sham: P < 0.01; anti–miR-93-5p vs. control: P < 0.05) (Supplemental Figure 10E).
