CRTC1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Consistent with the findings from NAFLD-induced mice, expression levels of genes related to positive regulation of natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity, negative regulation of metaphase anaphase transition of cell cycle, negative regulation of fatty acid metabolic process, lipoprotein biosynthetic process, hydrogen peroxide catabolic process, negative regulation of macroautophagy, and TORC1 signaling were enriched in liver tissues of patients with NAFLD compared to those of healthy controls in the gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) of RNA-seq analysis (Figure 11A) (Arendt et al., 2015).
