TTR and peripheral neuropathy: Patients carrying p. Val142Ile mutation typically develop a progressive restrictive cardiomyopathy (CA-TTR) caused by extracellular deposition of abnormal transthyretin in the myocardium and less frequently features of peripheral neuropathy (Dungu et al., 2016; Clemmensen et al., 2017; Maurer et al., 2019; Batra et al., 2020; Kittleson et al., 2020; Kaku et al., 2022; Smiley et al., 2022; Maurer et al., 2026).
