With regards to FABP4, evaluated levels of circulating FABP4 have been associated with arterial hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, obesity, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disorders, abnormal QTc interval, kidney damage, cardiac dysfunction, and fatty liver disease (8, 22, 53–55). The gene discussed is FABP4; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
