CCN2 and glaucoma: Increased concentrations of CCN2/CTGF are reported in the aqueous humor of various glaucoma forms (van Setten et al., 2002; Ho et al., 2005; Browne et al., 2011) and the lens specific overexpression of CCN2/CTGF causes elevated IOP and a decline of ON axons in transgenic mice (Junglas et al., 2012).
