Other studies that recruited patients with TAO and in a hematologically euthyroid state (Chen et al., 2021d; Jiang et al., 2022; Zhou et al., 2022), or those that performed longitudinal monitoring of thyroid hormone levels, may provide additional evidence for understanding the role of thyroid hormones in the visual and cognitive impairments seen in TAO. This evidence concerns the gene TG and thromboangiitis obliterans.
