As CD4 + CD45RO + TILs were already correlated with increased survival in patients with gastric cancer (Lee et al. 2008; Pagès et al. 2009), we propose that the higher ratios of circulating CD4 + CD45RO + and CD8 + CD45RO + T cells in peripheral blood of patients with primary liver cancers may serve as useful biomarkers to predict response to brachytherapy. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and gastric cancer.
