In the multivariable adjusted analyses with a follow‐up of ≥20 years, TC (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.29; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.10 to 1.52), LDL‐C (HR = 1.33; 95% CI 1.14 to 1.55), non‐HDL‐C (HR = 1.34; 95% CI 1.15 to 1.57), TC/HDL‐C ratio (HR = 1.25; 95% CI 1.08 to 1.44), LDL‐C/HDL‐C ratio (HR = 1.25; 95% CI 1.09 to 1.43), ApoB (HR = 1.37; 95% CI 1.16 to 1.61), and ApoB/ApoA1 ratio (HR = 1.34; 95% CI 1.15 to 1.56) were associated with a higher risk of dementia. The gene discussed is APOB; the disease is dementia.
