The previously reported slight yet statistically significant increase in the γH2AX levels for the D + C vs. C treatment comparison in the A549 cells [8] can in turn be explained by the reduced levels of the DNA damage repair protein XPA (Figure 4); this agrees well with the reports on the positive correlation between XPA levels and cisplatin chemoresistance in NSCLC lines. This evidence concerns the gene XPA and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
