STAT3 and colorectal carcinoma: The involvement of miR-221-3p and miR-222-3p in CRC has been reported in the studies published by Sanhong et al. [47], demonstrating higher levels of miR-221 and miR-222 in human CRC tissues in respect to healthy colon tissues; this was found to be associated with increased expression of RelA and STAT3 mRNAs; accordingly, interference with the biological activity of miR-221 and miR-222 reduces in vivo growth of colon cancers [47].
