Meloxicam (MLX) is a novel enolamide non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drug (NSAID) [1] (Figure 1a) and a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) [2], mainly used in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis [3].
