Moderate-to-severe psoriasis requires the use of systemic treatments (conventional or biological) and several biologics—including tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) inhibitors (adalimumab, infliximab, etanercept, and certolizumab pegol), the interleukin (IL)-12/IL-23 inhibitor ustekinumab, IL-17A inhibitors (secukinumab and ixekizumab), IL-23 inhibitors (guselkumab, tildrakizumab, and risankizumab), and the IL-17A/F inhibitor bimekizumab—have shown substantial efficacy in lesion clearance and improvement in symptoms of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis [7,8,9]. This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and psoriasis.
