In univariate analyses, L3-SMI, L3-PMI, and all known risk factors (male sex, age, BMI, hypoalbuminemia, total lymphocyte count < 1.5 × 109/L, C-reactive protein ≥ 1.0 mg/dL and underlying pneumonia) emerged as predictive factors related to poor prognosis (Table 2).
