Supplementation with CTE did not prevent the obesity-induced increase in glycaemia but it significantly reduced the plasma concentrations of leptin (p < 0.01), adiponectin (p < 0.05) and insulin (p < 0.05), as well as the HOMA-IR (p < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
