The activation of JAK2 in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) leads to the phosphorylation of the receptors at the cytoplasmic tail, thus creating docking sites for SH2 domain-containing signaling proteins such as the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT3 and STAT5) [4,5].
