In the BRCA1- and BRCA2-associated hereditary cancer syndromes, there is a higher risk of prostate cancer and gastrointestinal cancers (pancreatic, gastric, biliary tract, esophageal), while the risk of melanoma, colorectal, and lung cancer is still a matter for debate [26,27,28,29]. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
