[61] in 2019 describes the possibility of predicting GDM in the first trimester based on the dynamics of specific plasmatic markers: decrease of plasmatic adiponectin and sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) combined with increased plasmatic levels of ficolin-3, afamin, retinol-binding protein 4 and specific micro-RNAs (miR), miR16-5p, miR-20a-5p and miR-17-5p.
