In this study, we have demonstrated that neurons, which contain protein aggregates in multiple proteopathies (PD, AD, ALS) and the neuroinflammatory condition MS, are highly STING-immuno-positive (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4), and are often localised in association with activated microglia, astrocytes and endothelial cells (Figure 3). This evidence concerns the gene STING1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
