Tijero and colleagues have shown that PD patients carrying LRRK2 mutations (G2019S or R1441G) have less autonomic dysfunction, such as orthostatic hypotension and less severe sympathetic denervation, as shown by meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy, when compared to idiopathic PD [63]. This evidence concerns the gene LRRK2 and Parkinson disease.
