Wittenbecher et al. investigated plasma N-glycans as emerging biomarkers of cardiometabolic risk in the EPIC-Potsdam Cohort and reported that FA2[3]G1 (plasma protein GP5 corresponding to IgG GP9) is particularly associated with a lower risk of incident cardiovascular events (myocardial infarction and stroke) in women [41].
